Stories of loss and healing

We recently had to say goodbye to our baby boy Milo. He was a fun loving playful spoiled boy. He was our daughter's best friend, protector, brother and snuggle buddy. It has been very hard for us all, but especially for her. Having the ashes returned home has helped her cope with this loss tremendously. We want to thank you for your services, very professional and caring and so thoughtful. We especially appreciated the paw-print ornament. Thank you so much Bluegrass Pet Crematorium so very much. To our baby boy Milo, Rest In Peace free from the pain, we love you and will miss you for now but as they say Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge!

I can’t say enough good things about the care my pet and myself encountered with BPC. After 12 years of love from my cat, I’m so glad she got the love she deserved in her preservation. Beautiful Urn, precious paw ornaments and the most patient staff. Seriously, these folks feel like family. ❤️

— Angel Clark

They were the most understanding people. I really appreciate the grieving room they have so my wife and I could say our very last goodbye to our sweet Holly of 17 yrs. They honestly take to heart that pets aren't pets...they're your family. Thank you so very much

I can’t thank Bluegrass Pet Crematorium enough. Through the sadness and tears, they made the process a little easier. Gina answered all my questions with great patience, compassion and kindness. She was so understanding and comforting when I brought in my girl. She let me stay with her as long as I needed even though it was after hours. They truly understand how difficult it is to lose our beloved fur babies. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to care for my babies' final journeys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🐾

I lost my dog in May of 2018. His name was Wrangler. He was my best friend and partner in life for 14 years. I was absolutely broken. They handled his body with care and compassion and told me what to expect. I opted for a private cremation. They were candid about the process and with me being a vet, more open about the physical side. I was allowed time to be with him before he went in-as much as I wanted. They helped me place some angel wings on his paw and get a paw print, which was hard due to him being frozen for a bit. And then I watched him go in. I was there when he came out. I wanted to KNOW I had MY dog’s ashes, and they understood completely. I made a vow to be with Wrangler from the beginning through the end and they helped me honor that. I won’t ever forget that day. Thank you Bluegrass for the service you offer on what is no doubt, one of the hardest days in our lives.

I've used your services for nearly 10 years. Wonderful, respectful, and kind staff. A special thank you to Gina for patiently answering my questions yesterday, and giving me a tour. I know that at the end of my beloved senior greyhounds' lives, their remains will be treated with great care, and returned to me promptly & with dignity. It is a huge plus that they are located right here in Lexington. Thank you!

Such a quick turnaround. I was was so touched by the way I got my sweet Katie back. The box is so elegant and lovely. And the plaster paw print was my absolute undoing. It will be treasured.

My wife and I just picked up our pup pup a few minutes ago and it feels like our hearts are whole again. You guys went above and beyond what I thought I was going to get. There are just no words to describe how happy we are with the box and the paw print. I appreciate it so much. Rest easy pup and fly high.

I cannot begin to thank you enough for how you took such great care of my mom's service dog, Molly! We said goodbye to her on December 3rd. I was so very impressed with the details and care you put into making sure we had lasting memories. The box was beautiful as well as the rainbow bridge bag it came in. The paw print was the icing on the cake. I never expected such a loving and thoughtful gift! It warms my heart to know that our fur babies are loved and taken care of by you even after their passing. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I have used Bluegrass Pet Crematorium 4 times over the past couple of years and every time they do an amazing job. Everything is done with care and they memorialize pets in the most caring and beautiful way. I love the way they have been able to get imprints of my rats’ feet and tails, leaving me with a part of them I can look at and remember my pets with. I wish I would’ve known about them sooner for some of my pets from the past but I will be using them in the future for all of my pets. I recommend them to anyone who wants to keep a part of their pets with them always. The staff have also been friendly and caring towards me. Keep up the good work and thank you so much!

Thank you for taking care of my sweet Portia. I am heartbroken over the loss of her. You were very kind to me when we brought her in and you allowed me to ramble on about how precious she was. Thank you for listening to me and for being so compassionate. Portia will be greatly missed but I am thankful to have the beautiful paw prints. They will be treasured forever.

Love love love Bluegrass Pet Crematorium. Never thought I’d say that I loved a place that cremates your pets. They preserved Bane's ashes in a beautiful box and I even was surprised by the paw print impression I had regretted not doing myself. I am so glad my vet (Bath Vet Clinic) uses them. I hope its a long time before I have to go through this again, but when I do, I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you all for everything

I greatly appreciate the kindness and compassion which both Susan and Gina shown me during the loss of my beloved little ‘PeaPunkin’, Sophie. Faced with making these heart-breaking arrangements amidst our awkward state of worldly Covid-19 chaos and letting go of my baby girl out of a car window was so tragically grim but both young ladies handled the entire process with extreme professionalism and respect. My sweet fur-baby got her ‘puppy wings’ just days before her 15th birthday. They understood she was not just my pet but she was my family and my best friend. My home is so empty and my life is forever changed without her. So, having her ashes returned back home to me on her birthday gave me a small way of coping… just having her back. The box urn is gorgeous and the paw-print ornaments are beyond words. However, I believe the most touching thing for me was the thoughtful lock of her beautiful fur they saved me! I was so very touched by that thought and that they knew just how meaningful a treasure that would be. These are people that truly understand the hearts of fur parents! Thank you…for taking such great care of my sweet little girl, Sophie.

I did not know until I lost Titus that I could take my dog to be cremated myself. Titus was a livestock guardian dog that was a very large boy that crossed over to Rainbow Bridge on our farm. The staff was very kind when I took him and when I picked up his ashes. I will treasure the foot print.

A very loving and caring group of people in one of the low points in my life. Thank you so much for taking care of my loved one and he was loved by many others in the Search and Rescue groups. You did good Case, now it is time to rest.

— Gerald Dunn

These folks have a true calling for the special work they are doing. It is a great comfort to know and feel that they share the connection we humans have with our animal companions. I know my Roxie was in loving hands for her flight to the Bridge.

The loss of a pet is honestly one of the worst days of anyone's life. Then you are faced with what do I do now? Luckily for us our vet works closely with BGPC. The beautiful box, inside that lovely reminder of her waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge touched our hearts so much... but then the little heart with her paw print... you can see the fuzzy hairs on her paw pad and the long nails she hated anyone to trim... That was when it became more than just touching to our hearts, it became everything to us. Thank you so much.

Cremation Services

Private Cremation is our most requested service, and the one we perform most often. Your beloved pet is cremated privately in the cremation chamber, and their cremains are returned to you in the urn you have selected along with any additional keepsakes.
